Description

The City of Sacramento selected Grimshaw Architects with Perkins + Will to develop the Sacramento Valley Station Master Plan. The Sacramento Valley Station is a part of the California High-Speed Rail-System, which will contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment. The system will run from San Fransico to Los Angeles, and eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles.

The Station Master Plan will establish an integrated mobility hub within a vibrant and walkable community. The Master Plan includes 31 acres of property around the historic depot.

The concept focuses on the development of a transit center with infill and compact development, revitalized urban and community centers, reduced automobile usage and fuel consumption, and ultimately reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The gateway to a new era of seamless multimodal connectivity that serves to increase Sacramento’s competitive edge as a well-connected, thriving, urban center of California. Focusing on improving multimodal connectivity at Sacramento Valley Station.
